The Main Dashboard is the first page you see when you log in to vChain ONE. Depending on your account setup, it opens in one of two layouts:
Two pages, Right now and Trends: described in Main Dashboard: your shipments at a glance.
One Overview page: described in this article.
The Overview puts everything on one screen. It shows how your shipments developed in the selected period and what is on the way right now.
The header: filters, period and data freshness
Filters
The filters at the top right apply to the whole page:
Site: your sites in vChain ONE.
Carrier: the carrier of the shipment.
To city: where shipments are delivered.
Currency: the currency transport cost is shown in. If you leave it empty, cost is shown in your own currency from your vChain ONE profile.
To use a filter:
Click it to open the list.
Type in Search to find a value quickly.
Tick one or more values.
All means no filter is applied. The (Blank) option selects shipments where that field is empty.
Period
The Period card at the top right sets the time window, for example “In the last 3 months”. Click it to choose another window: a number and a unit (days, weeks, months, years), counted back from today. Shipments are counted by the date they were registered.
The period applies to the figures and charts that describe a time span. Three parts always show the current situation, whatever period you choose:
the In transit card;
the On the way now list;
the Control tower collaboration chart.
Data as of
Data as of shows when your data was last updated, for example “Data as of 2026-10-20 12:00 (CET/CEST)”. Data is updated several times a day during working hours. A shipment registered or updated after this time appears with the next update.
Key figures
Shipments: shipments registered in the period.
In transit: shipments on the way right now. The line below shows how many are waiting for pickup.
Transport cost: cost of priced shipments in the period. The line under the title shows the average cost per shipment and what share of shipments has a price.
On-time delivery: share of shipments delivered on time.
Average transit time (days): days from pickup to delivery.
The comparison line
The line under a number compares the period with the average of the two previous periods of the same length. For example, “▲ 189.6% vs avg prev. 6 months” with a 3-month period means 189.6% more than the average of the 3-month periods in the 6 months before.
Green means better: more shipments, lower cost, shorter transit time, higher on-time share.
Red means worse.
For on-time shares the change is shown in percentage points (pp).
Charts and lists
Shipments and transport cost by month
The columns show how many shipments were registered each month, split by transport mode (air, road, sea and so on). Each mode always has the same colour.
The orange line shows transport cost per month on the right axis.
The text under the title gives the monthly averages and the month with the highest cost.
On the way now
All shipments in transit or waiting for pickup, whatever period you choose:
Mode: the icon shows the transport mode, for example a truck for road and a plane for air.
Status: when the shipment is expected, for example Arrives today or Arrives tomorrow. Click the status to open the shipment in vChain ONE.
Shipment #, To, Carrier: help you recognise the shipment.
Open exception: shows an open issue on the shipment, if there is one.
The text above the list counts the shipments in transit, waiting for pickup and with an open exception. Scroll inside the list to see more.
Carriers you use
The ring shows each carrier’s share of your shipments in the period. Hover over a carrier to see its cost per shipment. The text under the title names your largest carrier and its share of shipments and cost.
Control tower collaboration, last 4 weeks
The issues the vChain Control Tower resolved in each of the last four weeks:
Resolved by vChain: handled by the vChain team on its own.
Resolved together with you: issues where your input was needed.
The text under the title gives the totals for the four weeks and how many open issues vChain is working on right now. This chart always covers the last four weeks, whatever period you choose.
On-time pickup and delivery by month
The share of shipments picked up and delivered on time, per month. The text under the title gives the averages for the period and the weakest month.
Tips
Hover over any bar, slice or card to see exact values.
Large numbers are shortened: K = thousand, M = million.
Use the visual menu: hover over a chart and use the icons in its corner, for example to open it in focus mode.
Frequently asked questions
A chart or card is empty. Why?
Check the filters and the period. A combination of filters can leave no shipments, for example a carrier you don’t use for that city.
Why are some figures so different from the previous period?
The comparison uses the average of the two previous periods of the same length. If you shipped much less, or had few priced shipments, in those periods, the change can be very large. Check the share of priced shipments under Transport cost before reading the cost change.
Why don’t the numbers match another report or an export?
The dashboard counts shipments by registration date.
Transport cost includes only priced shipments.
Data is shown as of the time in Data as of.
How often is the data updated?
Several times a day during working hours. The time of the last update is always shown in Data as of.
