Partner emissions: understand the CO₂e of your shipments

A short guide to the Emissions report for partners: how much CO₂e your shipments produce, how efficiently, and which modes, services and lanes stand out.

What this report is for

The Emissions report shows the climate impact of the shipments you handle. Use it to:

  • report CO₂e to your clients or in your own sustainability reporting;

  • see whether emissions grow because you ship more or because you ship less efficiently;

  • find the transport modes, carrier services and lanes with the highest footprint.

The report includes delivered shipments that have an emission calculation. Shipments still in transit, or without emissions data, are not counted.

Filters

  • Period (top right): default is the last 12 months.

  • Site and Carrier: narrow all cards and charts.

  • Data as of: when the data was last updated.

Key terms

  • CO₂e (kg): carbon dioxide equivalent, which includes all greenhouse gases converted to the same effect as CO₂.

  • CO₂e intensity (kg/tkm): kg CO₂e per tonne-km, i.e. per tonne of goods moved one km. It shows efficiency, independent of volume and distance. Lower is better. As a rule of thumb, road is around 0.1, air is ten times more.

The cards at the top

  • Emissions (kg CO₂e): total emissions in the period.

  • CO₂e intensity (kg/tkm): average efficiency, weighted by tonne-km.

  • Shipments: number of delivered shipments with emissions data.

The coloured line compares with the average of the previous 24 months. For emissions and intensity, red ▲ = more CO₂e (worse) and green ▼ = less. For shipments, ▲ is green.

How to combine them: if emissions go up and intensity stays the same, you’re shipping more. If intensity goes up, you’re shipping less efficiently, usually more air or express.

The charts

Chart

What it shows

Look for

Emissions by month

CO₂e per month (columns) and number of shipments (line, right axis). Hover a month to see the change vs last year.

Months where emissions rise much more than shipments: a sign of more air or longer distances.

CO₂e intensity by month

Efficiency per month.

Jumps in the line. They usually mean a shift to air or express.

CO₂e intensity by transport mode

Intensity per calculation mode (courier, express, air, economy, road). Hover for kg and shipments.

The gap between modes: moving shipments from express or air to economy or road gives the largest reduction.

CO₂e intensity by carrier service

The carrier services with the highest intensity first.

Services worth replacing with a lower-emission alternative on the same lane.

Emissions by lane

All lanes with distance group, shipments, weight, emissions and intensity, highest emissions first.

Lanes with both high emissions and high intensity. That’s where a mode change pays off most.

Tip: use the Carrier filter to prepare a CO₂e summary for one carrier, or click a lane or mode to filter the page.

Common questions

Why are some shipments missing?

Only delivered shipments with an emission calculation are included.

Why does intensity change a lot from month to month?

A few air shipments can raise the average considerably in a month with low road volume.

Can I export the data?

Hover over a chart or table → ⋯ → Export data.
