Emissions per shipment: detailed CO₂e, pollutants and energy for reporting

Use this report when you need emission figures per shipment or per transport leg, for example for sustainability reporting, customer requests or audits.

What this report is for

The Emissions dashboards show trends. This report shows the detail behind them: the calculated emissions of every single shipment and every leg of its journey.

Use it when you need to:

  • report emissions in your sustainability or CSRD reporting (Scope 3, upstream and downstream transport);

  • answer a customer who asks for the CO₂e of a specific delivery;

  • show your calculation to an auditor, leg by leg, with distance, mode and gases;

  • export the data to your own reporting tool.

Emissions are calculated well-to-wheel: they include both producing the fuel and burning it in the vehicle.

Filters

  • Period: registration date of the shipments.

  • Transport mode, Carrier, Carrier service, Payer and Site.

  • Shipment number: find one specific shipment.

  • Two pages: Shipments (one row per shipment) and Emission legs (one row per leg).

Shipments page

Cards:

  • Shipments: shipments with an emission calculation;

  • CO₂e (kg): total emissions;

  • Energy (MJ): energy used;

  • CO₂e intensity: kg CO₂e per tonne-km, i.e. how efficiently goods are moved. Lower is better.

Emissions per shipment: one row per shipment, newest first. Legs shows how many transport legs the shipment had. Values are totals over all legs. Click a shipment number to open it in ONE.

CO₂e by month and CO₂e by transport mode: where and when emissions arise. Air usually stands for most of the CO₂e even when it’s a small share of shipments.

Tip: to get the figure for one delivery, type its number in the Shipment number filter and read the row, or open Emission legs to see how it was calculated.

Emission legs page

A shipment often travels in several legs, for example truck to the airport, flight, flight, truck to the receiver. Each leg is calculated separately, with its own mode, distance and emissions. In the example, shipment …4456 has four legs: road 6 km, air 898 km, air 1,316 km, road 36 km. The two air legs account for almost all of its CO₂e.

What the columns mean:

Column

Meaning

Leg

Leg number of the total, for example 2/4.

From / To

Start and end of the leg (city, or airport code for air legs).

Distance (km)

Distance of the leg.

CO₂ total, fossil, biogenic (kg)

Carbon dioxide; biogenic comes from biofuels and is reported separately in most standards.

CO₂e (kg)

All greenhouse gases converted to CO₂ equivalents. This is the figure normally used in reporting.

SO₂, CO, HC, CH₄, NOx, N₂O, PM (g)

Other emissions and air pollutants: sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, methane, nitrogen oxides, nitrous oxide, particulate matter. Useful for air-quality reporting.

Energy (MJ)

Energy used on the leg.

CO₂e per tonne-km

Intensity of the leg.

Common questions

Why are some shipments missing?

Only shipments with an emission calculation are included. Shipments without weight or route information can’t be calculated.

Which figure should I report?

Usually CO₂e (kg), well-to-wheel. Check what your reporting framework requires.

Can I export the data?

Hover over the table → ⋯ → Export data. Export is useful for sending figures to a customer or loading them into your reporting tool.
